University of Maryland Terapins Embroidered Patch Size is 3.5" Wide x 3" High. Each heavy-duty patch is highly detailed, weatherproof, and 100% embroidered to ensure long lasting color and durability. Standard backing is a sew-on with iron-on, and adhesive hook & loop (VELCRO® Brand backing) backings available. Complete instructions provided for iron-on and VELCRO® Brand orders & unless ordered PRIORITY, should allow 1 business day before shipping as each backing is hand applied PATCH BACKINGS EXPLAINED: Sew-on Backing is perhaps the best way to adhere patches to any fabric and can be used for any wearable item indoors and out. Completely waterproof and is only subject to the strength of the thread used to sew the patch. This style of backing is permanent. Iron-on Backing is perfect for most light to medium weight fabrics that can withstand pressurized iron heat applied. Not recommended for fabrics that are constantly subjected to water or heavy outdoor use. This backing is permanent depending on use and regularity of washing. Peel-n-Stick Backing is perfect for fabrics as well as other surfaces (wood, metal, etc.). This backing does not require any ironing, but unless applied to a solid surface is only a semi-permanent backing and may come loose over an extended period of time (dependent on washing and fabric/material type). VELCRO® Brand Backing (Adhesive Hook & Loop) will adhere to almost any surface. It is completely weatherproof and offers the flexibility of easy removal and re-application on to the surface. We utilize an industrial strength glue backing to ensure adhesion. SHIPPING NOTE: All patch orders shipped via our FREE SHIPPING offer are sent via USPS First Class Letter Service which does not offer tracking numbers. Typical shipping times are between 2 and 5 business days. Patch orders will arrive in standard business size 9"x 4" envelopes that can often be confused as "junk mail."
